www.defenceimagedatabase.mod.uk receives more than 12 million hits per month. Implementation of the flexible and scalable Web solution allowed the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to offer its internal and external users many different services. This has been achieved at a fraction of the cost of the previous system whose capabilities were also limited.
The MoD is now able to manage and control its image assets and exploit their full potential, using a variety of different technologies. Automated workflow practices have increased productivity and allowed the MoD to enforce quality control standards among photographers in the Armed Forces.
