JPEGStore is intended as a "lowest common denominator" product/image storage solution. There are no frills and no expensive hardware or licenses required. What it does do is enable the small/medium businesses to get online and start selling products. It also works as a versatile shop system and even we're still finding new things to use it for on an almost daily basis. If you link this with a copy of FotoStation then you have the ultimate low-cost solution to delivering your product or pictures to a wide variety of business environments. If you spend money on advertising, need a web presence quickly (JPEGStore and Metasite) or just plainly want to share pictures with others, then this is the product for you.
JPEGStore supports several checkout systems: PayPal, TPS, print ordering via PhotoBox, HSBC Secure e-payments, and more are planned. It is currently in version 2.0. You can have it in any language you like and it only takes a few moments to set up too.
See www.jpegstore.com for more details or email us for a chat.
Recently we have been getting enquiries concerning upgrade decisions related to versions of Fotostation, Color Factory and Index Manager (Versions 6 and 7) To make it easier for our clients, just call and we will advise whether this makes sense or not. We will do what we can to help you if this migration is essential to your business needs and whether the purchase of a software maintenance agreement is essential.
We are now no longer a FotoWare partner despite the fact that we introduced and trained all their current UK outlets over the past 12 or so years. We asked to be included within their new selective distribution model (Mid 2009)and this was declined. We still wish to supply you directly as in the correct situation FotoWare is the best workflow application suite we know. Alternatives are available from us too. You, The Customer makes the choice. Not the manufacturer.
Despite this position we are still able to support and integrate the Fotoware Suite from an engineering perspective. This is at or well above the level of many outlets across the world. We happily contract with specialists across Europe to ensure that a managed and caring approach to service is maintained. We use the best person for your needs. If you want to see testimonials to this effect then just ask.
Should you wish to make a decision concerning the use of Fotoware, an upgrade path or simply bounce some ideas around then please call us. We are also able to recommend associate companies that we know are reliable, properly funded and totally independent of manufacturer control in order to source FotoWare product.
The advice and support we offer will be honest, practical and freely given.
Laidback Solutions supply a number of clever solutions for the Publishing Industry. As independent developers for the Graphics Industry since 1993 they have made over 1000 solutions that plug in to Quark Express® and In Design®, never mind bespoke tools that integrate with databases etc.
ColorMan
A really neat way to drag'n drop images from an archive that uses FotoStation onto a Quark or InDesign page. Not only does this essential tool ensure that the image is correctly placed, but the text related to it is transferred and the image is automatically scaled and converted to EPS for output. In a busy magazine production area or an advertising environment, this saves hours, meaning deadlines can be met quickly with reliable content. PC and OS X versions available.
FileTrain
Simply picks up your files from a part of your system and delivers them to another place...just like a train really! But on the way it sorts out those little niggles about file names and types to make sure that your carriage goes to the correct siding and many things more. If you have a lot of people that move things around the network then you will be very happy to know that this express will get your job to its destination on time. Ideal for OS X-only environments.
Cargo
Take control of your workflow
Are you receiving lots of files to your organization?
Are you working with outsourcing that requires that you share files with someone on the other side of the world?
Ever felt that it takes you too long to find the file that the customer has sent you?
Have you ever felt that sending large files via e-mail or FTP is a problem?
Cargo is the perfect solution for you and your organization!
Feedback
Manage usage of copyright protected images
Feedback analyses images in a layout and creates reports based upon copyright status of images.
If you are using copyright protected images in your magazine or newspaper, there is a large chance that you have someone spending endless hours on filling in or writing reports.
Feedback can automate the entire process for you, which will free up many hours or even days.
Take a look at their web site for more information. This is industrial strength stuff for the cognoscenti. Got a big idea and need it developed? This is where to start.

Metasite was actually only intended as an internal tool to allow us to build simple, robust web sites very quickly for JPEGStore customers who didn't have a main site. Before we knew it we were knee deep in Metasites so I guess it's here to stay!
There's not much to say really other than its simplicity is key. It's a text-file based web/content management system. Each site gets a handwritten "template" page and the content is called into that. Sites can be twinned and linked to each other to form multilingual sites and more complex structures if required for a fraction of the cost of a one-off solution.
Because each site is actually an independent entity, just with a common menu/content structure, it means those small customisations which always crop up can be added without knock-on effects.
Metasite 2.0. is now released - its main new feature is a basic plugin structure which means we can develop new modules for it as they are needed. Once a module is written any Metasite can use it.
Recently we've made a bit more effort to actually explore what we can do with these little systems in terms of making them look pretty as well as being functional.
One thing to note is that once you've got your Metasite set up, the look and feel can be changed very easily (read: cheaply) because we just need to make a new template page for it. This site is a Metasite.

TPS ("That Payment system") is a pricing and order management/processing system which interfaces with standard online payment gateways (e.g. WorldPay, PayPal*, HSBC secure e-payments*). This is an order management and pricing system which sits between your image library or shop, accepts a basket http POST and retrieves pricing, delivery and discount information for each of the products based on the information passed in. Each individual product can be assigned a (theoretically) infinitely complex, or simple, pricing structure.
This is a system which is best suited to complex pricing structures which would be impossible or very difficult to replicate in an online environment - e.g. image rights management - taking into account one or more instances of each item, where and how the image is to be used, which page, size, etc. You could equally use it to allow a user to negotiate a hire or insurance agreement, or to sell software.
Just for good measure it works in as many currencies as you like at once, and allows you to use a different payment gateway (or gateways - user can choose one if multiple are provided) in each instance - e.g. use a US WorldPay account linked to a US bank account for US customers but also use a UK WorldPay account linked to a UK bank account for UK customers, whilst everything is linked to the same pricing structure but the currencies are scaled accordingly. ;-)
When finished it will pass your customer on to a fulfilment system. The order contents are then made available to the fulfilment system, at which point the order leaves TPS as XML.
To save time here's a short list of features:
- processes a normal HTTP POST with basket contents
- handles (theoretically) infinitely complex pricing structures
- orders stored as XML
- MD5 post verification for payment gateway and fulfilment system
- each stage of the order process is MD5 signed
- each product can have its own pricing and delivery tree structure
- per-item as well as per-basket delivery pricing
- handles multiple zones and delivery methods (i.e. different kinds of postage available to different regions, etc.)
- works in multiple currencies per installation
- each installation supports multiple payment gateways/interfaces
- handles variable or fixed exchange rates
- hosted service
- entirely web-based admin
- supports fullres image delivery for JPEGStore and FotoWeb
Please email if you're interested in the product.
* Currently only supports WorldPay

Exponential-e can provide as much bandwidth as you need. Formerly linked at Director level, Exponential-e Ltd is a next-generation network connectivity provider. This award winning company has a customer list that is the envy of some pretty large telecommunications businesses.
Started in 2001 at what can best be described as the year of telecom meltdowns, Exponential-e has grown to be a respected player in the business. In October 2007 2008 and 2009 the business was listed in the Times Tech Track 100 as one of the UK's fastest growing technology companies. If you need to string a few offices together, backup your entire network remotely or simply attach to the internet at serious speeds then start here... Exponential-e were the first in the UK to build and deploy a Next Generation Network.
This is the realm of connecting banks and phone companies up, not to mention a few household names too. If you think "broadband" is fast, then you are in the wrong place. If you know what "VPLS", "Tier 1", "MPLS" or "one hop to New York" means then you are the type of people we work with. One hop to Croydon or Manchester doesn't have the same ring, but the business does that too.
